You know you've hit the big time when the post office gives you respect. The Japanese post office has released
limited-edition stamps based on Neon Genesis Evangelion as the fifth release of its "Animation Hero and Heroine Series," which started in 2005. Past releases have honoured titles including
Galaxy Express 999,
Pokemon and
Mobile Suit Gundam.
A similar series, "Science and Technology & Heroes and Heroines of Animation" started in 2003 with
Tetsuwan Atom (
Astro Boy) as the first animated honouree; other titles included
Super Jetter,
Time Bokan,
Marvelous Melmo,
Science Ninja Team Gatchaman and
