Two Contests for the Price of One
It's rare that we run more than one contest at a time, but sometimes we're just bursting with giveaway goodness. We're giving two winners a two full passes each for next week's Platform International Animation Festival, and another two winners are getting a copy The Art of Ratatouille.

Upcoming Releases: July 2007 to October 2007
Azur and Asmar, Michel Ocelot's latest fable, probably didn't come around to your local cineplex—but Warner is releasing the DVD in July through their Canadian arm. In September, another fable of sorts comes to DVD when the last part of Avatar: The Last Airbender's Book 2 (Earth) drops.

Film Bilder Box
Short films are where the real breakthroughs take place in terms of both storytelling and technique, and the latest reminder of that is in a pair of DVDs from German studio Film Bilder.

Review: Peach Girl Vols. 1 & 2
A Japanese animated television series that follows the highest of highs and the lowest of lows that echo through the hallways and stairwells of a contemporary high school, Peach Girl at its best is only moderately appealing and seems capable of only satisfying viewers with a penchant for soap operas.

New and Notable This Week: June 11 to June 17
3x3 Eyes is a fun, short-form anime that follows a guy whose encounter with an immortal demon poses to him quite a quandary. Also: Kashimashi: Girl Meets Girl Vol. 1 and Suzuka Vol. 1.

Short Takes: Pixar's Up, Astro Boy, Bollywood Nights, Oh Canada, Thundercats
Pixar has announced that their 2009 feature will be titled Up, making it the most concisely titled animated feature ever, at least until Shane Acker's 9 comes out.

This November, we'll be holding our fourth annual charity auction. Vote now to decide which cancer research organization will benefit from the money we raise.
